This calculator first retrieves the systolic and diastolic pressure entered by the user and calculates the blood pressure category based on the following criteria:
Low Blood Pressure: systolic < 90 or diastolic < 60
Normal Blood Pressure: systolic >= 90 && systolic <= 119 && diastolic >= 60 && diastolic <= 79
Elevated Blood Pressure: systolic >= 120 && systolic <= 129 && diastolic < 80
Stage 1 Hypertension: systolic >= 130 && systolic <= 139 || diastolic >= 80 && diastolic <= 89
Stage 2 Hypertension: systolic >= 140 || diastolic >= 90
Finally, it displays the calculated blood pressure category in the “Blood Pressure Category” field.
